Coal Rollers

Rolling coal and loud vehicles are frequently linked in automotive subcultures, as both practices involve modifying diesel trucks to violate federal Clean Air Act standards and local noise ordinances. Drivers who engage in rolling coal to emit thick black smoke often also remove mufflers or install excessive exhaust systems to increase noise, creating a combined nuisance of noxious pollution and excessive decibel levels.

At approximately 2:00 pm northbound #180 near Memory Lane, Black Dodge Ram, Texas plate 0SB30492
After dousing us with black smoke, I turned on the video at the next stop light, but of course the tough guy didn’t light up once he knew he was being filmed.

Documented coal roller with Texas plates.
